European Health and Safety Week: Managing Work Related Stress

23rd October 2014

This week is European Health and Safety Week, each year a new campaign is run to highlight and raise awareness of specific health or safety topics. This year the focus is ‘Healthy Work Places’, with the aim to get Europe talking about stress and psychosocial risks in the workplace and how they can be managed. The S2 Partnership will be supporting the campaign by helping to highlight the issue and to promote safe and healthy workplaces.

If you’re looking to promote better health and safety or new health and safety initiatives within your organisation, the S2 Partnership can help – offering proactive, practical guidance on a range of health and safety issues to deliver business benefits and a better, safer environment. There are many benefits to managing healthy and safe workplaces including legal, moral and financial. All employers have legal responsibility under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 to ensure the health, safety and welfare at work of their employees. This includes minimising both health and safety risks including stress-related illness or injury to employees. The S2 Partnership undertakes a range of services to identify both health and safety hazards and assess the risks to ensure that suitable and sufficient control measures are in place.
