HSE Launches New Business Plan 2019/2020

28th May 2019

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has launched its new business plan for 2019/2020 – setting out its priorities for the coming year and underpinning its ongoing commitment to key areas such as leading and engaging others to improve workplace health and safety; and securing effective management and control of risk.

HSE has cited that the forthcoming year will be important for supporting and contributing to the government’s activities regarding EU matters, as well as its fundamental reform of building safety regulations following the tragedy at Grenfell Tower.

HSE has played an important role in developing a sound regulatory framework to protect people in the workplace and will continue this commitment to tackle long-standing problems and address new emerging issues as they arise.  The new business plan refers to the sector plans that were published in 2017 and the Helping Great Britain Work Well strategy which was launched in 2016.  HSE’s inspection campaigns for 2019/2020 will align with specific issues that were outlined in the sector plans.

The Plan also includes the financial outlook and key performance indicators for 2019/2020.
