European Week for Waste Reduction – 16th to 24th November
This year, European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) runs from 16th to 24th November. The purpose of this annual initiative is to raise awareness of sustainable resource and waste management, with the aim of encouraging a wide range of audiences to participate.
Thematic focus of EWWR
This year’s focus is “Waste education and communication”. Under the slogan “Change your ways, reduce your waste”, EWWR is challenging participants to educate themselves and others about their consumption and waste generation and to make valuable changes to their habits to mitigate their own environmental impact.
The key consideration at the heart of EWWR each year is to encourage the development of waste management strategies and behavioural change within authorities, businesses and other stakeholders.
