Half Year Charity Update from the S2 Partnership

18th October 2019

At the end of January, the S2 Partnership announced its Charities of the Year, nominated by employees, to support through ongoing fundraising activities over a 12-month period. This year, S2 is rising to the fundraising challenge in a number of diverse ways, such as taking part in half marathons, arranging plant sales and baking competitions, as well as planning a charity football match.  S2’s teams also host a popular monthly ‘Foodie Friday’ event, where each team takes its turn in hosting a breakfast or lunchtime employee get-together.

For 2019/2020, the S2 Partnership is supporting both a national and a local charity: Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).  ARUK is the national charity which carries out pioneering work focusing on the prevention, treatment and cure of dementia, and EACH supports the families of children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.

However, it is not just the nominated S2 Charities of the Year that are supported.  Many S2 employees, who are based around the UK, are also involved in organising or taking part in very successful fundraising events for several other local and national charities – the Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge for Parkinson’s UK, a gig for Leeds Mind, and the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to name but a few.

Jen Eastman, S2 Director said, ”We are delighted to be supporting many charities through our fundraising efforts this year – the creativity of our teams in finding new ways to fundraise is great to see, and we are very proud to be supporting these valuable causes.”
