Primary Authority Register – Fire Safety

15th June 2018

The S2 Partnership is pleased to announce that it is now officially working in partnership with Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service (HF&RS).

Joining the ‘Primary Authority Register’ is expected to bring significant benefits to S2 and its clients through direct access to HF&RS. The partnership will enhance S2’s service offerings, and ensure that S2 continues to deliver informed, effective and innovative support to clients, thus corroborating S2’s commitment to excellence and transparency.

Working in collaboration with a fire service will ensure consistency across all fire assessments and service offerings. The partnership covers all aspects of CPD training, policy and procedures and is delivered from a single point of contact at HF&RS, who will advise on complex issues to achieve the correct and safe outcome. The scheme is completely transparent, and participation illustrates that S2 is committed to ongoing CPD and keeping abreast of the latest adjustments to fire regulations. This provides peace of mind to clients who are concerned about keeping up to date with changes to fire regulations, particularly in the light of the Grenfell tragedy. All fire assessments carried out by S2 will achieve robust compliance for clients.

The Primary Authority Register scheme was first initiated in 2009 in the areas of environmental health, trading standards and fire safety regulations, and now has over 16,000 participants to ensure regulation is met effectively, whilst allowing innovation and developments within businesses. The scheme is delivered by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Principal Fire Consultant for the S2 Partnership, Kevin Creaton said of the new partnership “We are really pleased to have gained a partnership with Hampshire Fire and Rescue service. Having served 18 years in the fire service myself, I know how beneficial this will be for S2 and our clients. S2 are committed to the highest standards – that’s what makes us one of the market leaders in fire safety and this partnership will only raise our already high standards.”
