New CIBSE Guidance in Maintenance Engineering and Management

29th April 2015

The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) have recently released the latest version of Guide M: Maintenance Engineering and Management – the definitive guide to effective building maintenance and operation, which is an update of the 2008 guide.

Updated to reflect the recent changes to legislation, the guide now includes updated sections on:

  • Maintenance strategy and techniques
  • Energy efficiency and maintenance
  • Operational risk assessment and management procedures
  • Condition surveys
  • Legislation and compliance

The Guide identifies current good practice and is intended for the benefit of those at all levels who have responsibility for the management and maintenance of the engineering services in a building. It also aims to inform those who design and construct buildings and helps to raise awareness of the implications their decisions have on facilitating effective management and maintenance.
