Founded in 1999, the LCA is a voluntary organisation whose membership comprises providers of services and products concerned with the control of legionella bacteria in water systems. The primary aim is to keep water systems safe and minimise the risk of cases of Legionnaires’ disease caused by poorly maintained systems.

The LCA’s Code of Conduct for Service Providers outlines nine commitments service providers must address through a Statement of Compliance to establish and maintain appropriate management systems for those services that they offer associated with the control of legionella.

In support of this, registered members also commit to formal LCA Standards for Service Delivery for each category of service offered which define the important elements that should be part of every service provider’s management system.

The S2 Partnership has a dedicated team of highly-qualified and experienced water safety consultants to ensure clients comply with legal requirements for water safety and maintain first-rate water hygiene management.  Working with clients in partnership, S2 provides bespoke services and support ranging from risk assessments and water hygiene management systems to auditing and training. S2’s specialist consultants examine a building’s water services and systems to provide a practical assessment of the water hygiene risks present and how to control them. The S2 Partnership water hygiene management system provides a comprehensive method of managing water system risk and includes maintenance regimes, log sheets and graphs.

Where water treatment contractors are appointed to undertake water treatment and management, the S2 Partnership offers independent auditing services to ensure appointed contractors carry out their legionella management duties effectively, providing complete peace of mind.

The S2 Partnership provides truly independent advice, and has no commercial links with water hygiene service companies or maintenance contractors, ensuring straight-talking, impartial advice. Water samples taken by the S2 Partnership are analysed by approved UKAS laboratories.
