We are delighted to announce that the S₂ Partnership have been chosen by Standard Life to be their risk assessment partners for the next five years. The service will involve working closely with Standard Life’s managing agents to undertake health & safety and fire safety risk assessments. Standard Life will also use our RiskWise web-based data management system to manage safety risks across the managed portfolio.

It wasn’t just our quality consultancy services that impressed Jones Lang LaSalle, but also our innovative RiskWise₂ on-line software product. RiskWise₂ sets new industry standards for an easily-operable modular system for overseeing Health & Safety and Environmental requirements for Property Managers.

The S₂ Partnership’s latest success will feature in the August edition of the Estates Gazette, with an interview from Stewart Smith and Lorraine Harrison, Directors of S₂ and John Miller, Jones Lang LaSalle's Socially Responsible Management Officer.

Sea ice is thinner than first feared, according to the latest findings of the British Polar exploration team led by Pen Hadow, proudly sponsored by the S₂ Partnership.

The team recently discovered that ice formed in the Arctic over the last year has an average thickness of just 1.77m, which means that older ice (usually thicker than 3m) has either moved across the Arctic Ocean or melted. It's therefore very likely that this new ice will also melt in the summer months.

Polar experts believe that the Arctic is warming so quickly that the summer ice could vanish altogether as soon as 2013, decades earlier than some had anticipated.

The 10th year of business for the S₂ Partnership is proving to be very positive. We have expanded offices, increased the size of the team and continue to grow our client base in both England and Scotland. Since the beginning of the year we have been glad to welcome five more people to the team, they include consultants and the expansion of our sales and marketing team. To provide working space for the growing team, the S₂ Partnership has taken over an adjoining unit at the head office in Elsworth, Cambridge, which currently houses our RiskWise₂ technical team.

The S₂ Partnership celebrated its 10th anniversary earlier this month.

Since 1999, we have developed into a thriving company with solid client relationships and ever-growing services. In recent years, key events have been our achievement in attaining ISO 9001 for our own business operations and more recently, ISO 14001. In 2008, we opened an office in Scotland, comprising a team of consultants. As an expanding company, we look forward to the new challenges ahead and to celebrating the next 10 years!

The S₂ Partnership are pleased to offer their congratulations to REALM, a specialist asset manager and developer of retail property, who have recently achieved accredited certification to ISO 14001:2004 for their entire managed retail portfolio. REALM truly embraces effective environmental management and this has been reflected in achieving ISO 14001 within seven months. The format for REALM’s ISO14001 achievement was centred on site specific environmental impact assessments, undertaken by S₂.

The S₂ Partnership were proud to co-sponsor the Property Managers Association of Scotland’s (PMAS) Annual Conference on the 24th September 2008 at the Airth Castle Hotel & Spa Resort. The main focus of the conference was a specially commissioned professional film following the trials and tribulations of a fictional residential block property manager. The film was presented in several chapters throughout the day, each followed by the award winning journalist and BBC broadcaster Lesley Riddoch providing a review of the content, raising probing questions and expertly generating healthy discussion amongst the delegates. The conference also contained several presentations relating to current issues for the residential property manager including the forthcoming switchover to digital television and the impact this will have.

We would like to thank the PMAS members for the opportunity to attend their conference and look forward to working closely with the association in the future.

One of the S₂ Partnership's key clients, Jones Lang LaSalle, has been selected as a finalist in the PFM Awards 2008, in the category of e-Business.

The e-Business category recognises the innovative use of new technologies to improve business processes. Through their use of the S₂ Partnership's RiskWise risk management web-tool, Jones Lang LaSalle have not only significantly reduced their overall risk liabilities but have also benefited from greater levels of staff engagement in the risk management process.

The S₂ Partnership are pleased to announce that RiskWise₂, the latest version of their highly successful web-based Risk & Environmental Management Solution, will be launched during a prestigious presentation on board the HQS Wellington, River Thames, London, on Monday 16th June.

RiskWise₂ is a powerful, user friendly, and intuitive Web based property management tool, specifically designed to help manage the Health, Safety and Environmental risk related issues affecting any building or property portfolio.

The S₂ Partnership is justifiably proud to announce that its Environmental Management System (EMS) developed for clients in the Managed Property Sector, has successfully achieved accredited certification to ISO 14001:2004.

The accreditation process took less than 6 weeks, from initial discussions with the accreditation body in late December, through stage 1 audits in January and then the final stage 2 audit on the 13th and 14th February 2008. The scope of the accreditation is not only for our Elsworth office but also for our environmental and other consultancy services.

RiskWise, the S₂ Partnership web-based Property Management Tool is to be demonstrated at the second Government Asset Management Conference to be held at the QEII Conference Centre, London SW1 on 2 July 2007; this OGC event is being organised in conjunction with Public Service Partnership.
