RiskWise2: The Risk & Environmental Management Solution

RiskWise2 is the latest version of the successful risk management software from the S2 Partnership and is due to go live in September 2008.

Whilst RiskWise2 has been significantly enhanced from the original system, it still manages to maintain a familiar look and feel ensuring a smooth transition for existing clients. New clients to the system will benefit from the new features, yet without the worry of having to learn a complex or difficult system.

The original RiskWise system has been a great success, combining effectiveness with simplicity and ease of use. In respect nothing has changed with RiskWise2, however new, powerful reporting features have been added.

RiskWise2 takes a modular approach to the facility management issues of Health & Safety, Accident & Incident Reporting and the increasingly important matter of Environmental Management. These three modules are just the beginning of what RiskWise2 can handle, with new modules already being designed, which when available, will easily be slotted into any existing RiskWise2 system.

The Welcome Page Key Performance Indicators

So let's look at what each module can provide you in more detail. The Health & Safety module can be closely likened to the whole of the original RiskWise system. It is a simple yet effective way of logging any form of inspection, any hazards identified, and managing the risk through to resolution.

The Accident & Incident Reporting module allows the recording of an accident or incident on any of your properties. The categories, severities and terminology can be fully customized to your needs, allowing you to produce a report in the format you choose.

Finally, the Environmental Management module allows the tracking of any Environmental inspections and their actions. Additionally, this module can also store, monitor and report on property energy meters and waste management. Each property can be set up to record only what is relevant to that site. This will in turn help you monitor and compare costs, efficiency and carbon emissions, either by property, client or any property data field.

RiskWise2 maintains its strong reporting capability, with significantly more functions and a variety of formats to report to, including XML, CSV, Doc and just simply within the RiskWise system itself.

Integrated Mapping Digital Dashboard

Graphical reporting is becoming more and more popular. The RiskWise2 Digital Dashboard is able to provide this on any information stored within the system. Each user has the flexibility to select graphs and charts from any module without having to drill down through data or running a search.

Integrated into RiskWise2 is the leading web mapping tool, Google Maps. Data previously displayed in a tabular or list format can now also be reported in a geographical view, perfect for monitoring trends by region or country. A vast range of data can be shown in this view, including outstanding risk levels, Environmental impacts and Health & Safety compliance.

RiskWise2 will help improve the way property managers look after the properties under their control, giving you all the information you need to manage your properties, without the worry of having to manage the system.

The RiskWise2 Launch on board the HQS Wellington

The venue, HQS Wellington

On the 16th June 2008 the S2 Partnership launched RiskWise2, their latest version of the highly successful web-based Risk & Environmental Management Solution. The launch was held on board HQS Wellington, the current headquarters of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners, with an invited audience of over fifty S2 clients and guests.

As RiskWise2 now incorporates an environmental risk management module, S2 were delighted to have internationally acclaimed polar explorer and environmentalist Pen Hadow, as the launch keynote speaker. In May 2003, Pen was catapulted to international fame when he became the first person to trek solo and without re-supply to the Geographic North Pole from Canada.

Pen was able to provide the audience with in-depth knowledge, based on his first hand observations, of the changes in wildlife and polar ice cap due to global warming at the Pole. Since 2003, Pen has watched with increasing dismay the shrinking Arctic ice with open water where once there was ice and changes in polar bear and seal populations. His talk was illustrated with stunning photographs and video footage including his remarkable swims through melting ice floes!

Pen concluded his presentation with a preview of his next project, 'The Arctic Survey'. Pen will shortly be returning to the Arctic, leading a specialist team to measure the thickness of the polar ice cap to provide, for the first time, exclusive evidence regarding its future. S2 will watch his progress with a keen interest and have committed themselves as a key sponsor of The Arctic Survey.

With the audience's attention clearly focused on the global importance of environmental management, an in depth RiskWise2 presentation was provided by Geoff Marlow and Rob Mead of the S2 Partnership.

In order to reinforce the value of RiskWise2 the audience was shown a case study of how RiskWise has underpinned the Risk Management process of leading commercial management company Jones Lang LaSalle. The case study was presented by John Miller of Jones Lang LaSalle, who outlined in detail how RiskWise had helped reduce their own overall risk liability by as much as 80% in the last two years.

HQS Wellington's open-air quarterdeck provided a perfect lunch venue with panoramic views of the Thames, the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye. Lunch also provided guests with the opportunity to chat informally to Pen Hadow who was much in demand!

In order to complete the environmental theme, the final speaker of the day was John Bryan, Communities & Local Government Energy Performance Advisor for Commercial Property who spoke about the implications of the newly introduced Energy Performance Certificates.

Following a tour of the ship, guests were presented with environmentally friendly mementoes of their day, which will hopefully serve to remind them of the many Risk and Environmental issues discussed and how RiskWise2 can help in their ongoing and future risk management.

Newsletter Spotlight - The Arctic Survey

Following the highly successful, and entertaining presentation given by Pen Hadow at the launch of RiskWise2, S2 Partnership are proud to announce their sponsorship of Pen on his next project 'The Arctic Survey'. The Arctic Survey seeks to resolve the question 'how long do we really have before the North Pole ice cap melts?' Pen and his team will be utilising the latest portable, ice-penetrating radar and will be relaying the measurements via ground-breaking portable satellite communications as they trek a 2,000 km route. S2 will be following Pen and his team every step of the way and will be posting updates of their progress throughout the survey.
