New Global Health and Safety standard ISO 45001 – set for March publication.

27th February 2018

It has been reported that the new ISO 45001 standard has gained approval, and is set to be published in March.

The standard follows the generic management system structure used for ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. By aligning ISO 45001 to the suite of other ISO management system standards, the intention is that it facilitates organisations to manage this key risk as part of their wider business processes.

It will be the first global standard of its kind, according to the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), giving organisations ‘a universally accepted framework for improving employee health and safety, reducing workplace risks and creating healthier, safer working conditions’.
