Asbestos continues to be a significant cause of workplace health related illnesses with an average of 20 tradespeople dying every week from asbestos related diseases. The HSE have launched a new asbestos safety campaign to try and raise awareness of the issue.
New guidance has recently been published by the Waste Industry Safety and Health (WISH) Forum for premises which are involved in waste management or any site where waste is stored, processed or treated.
This week is European Health and Safety Week, each year a new campaign is run to highlight and raise awareness of specific health or safety topics. This year the focus is ‘Healthy Work Places’, with the aim to get Europe talking about stress and psychosocial risks in the workplace and how they can be managed. The S2 Partnership will be supporting the campaign by helping to highlight the issue and to promote safe and healthy workplaces.
